A different side of Namibia
Namibia may be famous for desert landscapes, but in the far north-east the scenery changes completely. Livingstone’s Camp lies in the Wuparo Conservancy beside the seasonal floodplains of the Linyanti Wetlands, close to Nkasa Rupara National Park. Here, water, reedbeds, open grasslands and woodland create a landscape that feels more like a small delta than the Namibia many travellers expect.
This is why we like to call the area Namibia’s Mini Okavango. It is a smaller, quieter wetland wilderness with its own distinctly Namibian character. Guests can explore on guided game drives and walking safaris, enjoy excellent birding, visit local cultural and historical sites, and, when water levels allow, move quietly through the channels by mokoro. Back at camp, the main area, lounge, bar and cocktail pool provide an easy place to relax and watch the wetlands change with the light.

The camp’s new main area is designed around the view. It includes a bar, comfortable lounge and dining space, together with a cocktail pool overlooking the wetlands. It is the natural meeting point of the camp - a place for a cold drink after an activity, a relaxed meal, or simply time spent watching the floodplain and birdlife.

The best way to understand this landscape is to get out into it. Join a guided game drive or walking safari, spend time birding, or explore the wetland channels by mokoro when seasonal water levels allow. Cultural and historical visits add another layer to the experience, connecting the landscape with the people and stories of the wider Linyanti area. Activities depend on conditions and should be booked in advance.

Wildlife shaped by water
The combination of seasonal wetlands, grassland and woodland supports a wide variety of wildlife and birdlife.
